We've just taken in a 2016 Buick Encore Base SUV - its finished in Quicksilver Metallic, with an Ebony upscale cloth interior with leatherette accents.

Showing 122,032 miles, this compact SUV is powered by a turbocharged 1.4L Ecotec 4-cylinder gasoline engine paired with a smooth 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, delivering an EPA-estimated 25 MPG city and 33 MPG highway.

It has had two previous owners and is in Good condition, giving you an affordable way to enjoy the comfort, technology, and premium feel Buick is known for.

Perfect for commuters, first-time SUV buyers, or anyone looking for an easy-to-drive crossover with impressive efficiency, the Encore feels right at home whether you're navigating busy city streets, squeezing into tight parking spaces, or setting out on a weekend getaway. The elevated seating position gives you a confident view of the road ahead while the quiet cabin helps make every drive feel relaxed and refined.

The 6-way power drivers seat with lumbar support helps you find the perfect driving position, while active noise cancellation and QuietTuning technology work together to reduce outside distractions so conversations, music, and podcasts sound crisp and clear. The responsive turbocharged engine provides confident acceleration when merging onto the highway while still delivering excellent fuel economy for your daily routine.

Technology is thoughtfully integrated throughout the cabin with the IntelliLink infotainment system featuring a 7-inch color touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free calling and wireless music streaming, USB input, SiriusXM capability, steering wheel mounted audio controls, and available smartphone integration features. Comfortable, but get extended warranty

by JL 91 Cadillac on 7/4/2026 9:55:16 PM

Our 2018 Buick Encore Preferred 2 is a very nice riding quiet vehicle. It was purchased used to replace a GMC Envoy which we really loved, but the rust issues were becoming severe. This vehicle was the affordable option with very low miles .All things considered it has held up well, no major issues. A problem spot is the module for the AWD which seems to need to be replaced yearly. It is covered by the warranty so I think we will only keep it as long as the warranty is in effect. Both rear springs needed to be replaced this year, at 50K miles as they cracked and broke. It is very light, so it can be challenging in the snow and bad weather ( Is a little better with the new Michelin tires, but you still need to be careful). All in all, it is doing what we need it to do, at a price we could afford, but at the end of the warranty we will be looking to replace it with a heavier vehicle (like a pre-owned GMC Acadia or a Buick Envision AWD). We received a notice from GM that they would replace the turbo if it goes bad, as an as-needed recall, but so far we are doing ok with it, but we do allow it to cool down for a few minutes before we turn the engine off. We change the oil and do the maintence through the dealer, oil changes are at 3K miles so that might be helping it.

Starts falling apart at about 50,000 miles

Extended warranty is highly recommended because you will have several costly repairs in your future.

      Practical pick!

by Normal person on 5/15/2026 11:45:31 AM

Hi I’m writing this review to give some honest insight. I’m a college student and I live about 130 miles from home and do the drive often. My car is a 2015 with what I would consider high mileage. I love the interior and it has the perfect amount of space for me to pack up and take on weekend trips. Realistically, I have to do regular maintenance fixes(brakes, oil, tires) and have had a few “real issues”. I have had to do a $1,000 fix of the intake manifold and $500 suspension fix. My check engine light sometimes turns on even when my car has no symptoms and then turns itself off within a few days. I also have noticed that you can hear a lot of road noise from inside the vehicle. Other than that, it drives well and I really love it.
